Join SFA Gardens for the monthly Theresa and Les Reeves Lecture Series featuring Dawn Stover, agronomist at the East Texas Plant Material Center, with the U. S. Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Center who will present "Plants are the Answer!" The Plant Material Center's work involves the selection of native plants, plant-based technology development and education through public outreach to help improve soil health, water quality, declining longleaf and shortleaf pine ecosystems, wildlife habitat, and degraded pastureland. Stover joined the East Texas Plant Material Center in November 2021. Prior to that, she spent more than two decades as a research associate at SFA Gardens where she developed an extensive program to collect, propagate, display and distribute plants native to East Texas. She earned a BS in biology from West Texas A&M University and an MS in agriculture from SFA. A plant raffle will follow the presentation. For information, call 936-468-4129.
