"Alita’s Curse" Book Signing and Art Display

“Sea Otters,” 4 inch x 5 inch, a woodcut by Charles D. Jones

Join us for a special presentation, reading, and book signing of Alita’s Curse—a fictional story inspired by a 1904 sea otter hunt and the lives of author Beverly Morris’s great-grandparents, Alita Kochutin-Berikoff and Emilian Z. Berikoff.

Originally published as a fine press edition of forty, the book is a collaboration between Morris and master printer and illustrator Charles D. Jones. Their work honors the artistry and resilience of the Unangan people of the Aleutian Archipelago.

Original works from the book—created by Jones—will also be on display during the event.

Explore the story, view the artwork, and meet the creators behind this powerful collaboration.
