The Stephen F. Austin State University Combined Choirs and Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Michael Murphy, will present Elijah by Felix Mendelssohn at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 3, in Turner Auditorium.
One of the most celebrated choral-orchestral works of all time, Elijah brings the story of the prophet to life with vivid orchestration, thrilling choruses, and stirring solos. The performance will feature the A Cappella Choir directed by Dr. Michael Murphy, Kantorei and Singin’ Axes directed by Dr. Tod Fish, and the SFA Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Gregory Grabowski. Featured soloists include Scott LaGraff, Ric Berry, Debbie Berry, and Nita Hudson.
