Mike Hopson Golf Scholarship

  • Goal: $16,000
  • $7,080
  • 44% funded
  • 18 donors

Dr. Mike Hopson, who graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1969, had two passions — the game of golf and his alma mater. He started playing golf when he was 13 years old, which led him to join the SFA men’s golf team and letter in the sport.

Hopson later returned to the university to coach the men’s golf team from 2000 to 2006 and left a lasting impression on the student-athletes and all those who loved the sport.

Hopson passed away Feb. 5. The Mike Hopson Golf Scholarship was established to honor his legacy and all he has done for the SFA community.

Please consider making a donation today in Hopson’s memory. The scholarship benefits a student-athlete on the men’s or women’s golf team. Through your support, his legacy will continue at SFA.
