A Living Tribute: The Lumberjack Memorial Tree
As a new way to remember and honor students who have died during their time at Stephen F. Austin State University, the Student Government Association is raising funds for its new initiative, the Lumberjack Memorial Tree. The tree will be a living tribute that lights up purple when a Lumberjack passes and will serve as a central campus location for holding vigils and placing flowers.
The Lumberjack Memorial Tree will round out SGA’s current initiative of purchasing bricks with the names of those departed Jacks and placing them by Surfin’ Steve. We kindly ask for your consideration in contributing funds for this living tribute to bring closure and unity to the campus community during difficult times.
