Protecting your health during the holiday traveling season
Dec. 10, 2021 - 12:07 p.m.

As we end the fall semester and continue through the holiday season, we remind everyone of the importance of staying vigilant with a personal hygiene regimen during the pandemic.

The Centers for Disease Control recommends washing hands with soap and water whenever possible, because handwashing reduces the amounts of all types of germs and chemicals on hands. If soap and water are not available, using a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol can help you avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others.

As you may travel to see friends and family, please remember to wash and sanitize your hands often. We also encourage you to limit contact with those who may be sick.

The university continues to monitor the delta and new omicron variants of COVID-19 and will update the campus community as necessary.

We are also in the midst of flu season. We encourage all members of the SFA community to get the flu vaccine, in addition to the COVID-19 vaccine and booster (as appropriate).

We also continue to offer free masks and hand sanitizer to all SFA community members. You may simply come to the third floor of the Rusk Building and pick some up!

You may direct any questions concerning COVID-19 to higginsjk@sfasu.edu and any questions about masks and hand sanitizer to dos@sfasu.edu.

Have a great and safe holiday season.
