Let’s protect our community and health providers in Spring 2022
Jan. 11, 2022 - 4:02 p.m.

Welcome back, Lumberjacks!

We can’t wait to see everyone back on campus Wednesday, Jan. 12. While we are very excited to return, it is important that every Lumberjack does their part to keep our campus healthy. Keeping the SFA community healthy keeps the residents of Nacogdoches healthy and health care providers able to manage all of our care and emergencies.

Do your part by getting vaccinated and boosted, staying home and seeking testing if you are sick, wearing a mask when you are around others, and washing your hands frequently.

Please review the campus guidelines for Spring 2022. SFA will continue the same isolation and quarantine guidelines from the Fall 2021 semester.

If you test positive for COVID-19, you must isolate for 10 days before returning to campus. If you are considered a close contact and you are unvaccinated, you must quarantine for 14 days from the day of your last contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19.

If you receive a negative test and you are symptom-free, you may return to campus 10 days after the date of your negative test. Due to state mandates disallowing mask requirements, SFA will not adopt the recently announced shortened quarantine and isolation guidance from the CDC. The isolation and quarantine guidelines for SFA can be found in their entirety on the COVID-19 website.

Please be patient with testing providers, as there is high demand right now and the process requires care and time to be done safely and accurately.

COVID-19 vaccines and boosters can be received from SFA’s Health Services on campus. There are two upcoming vaccination clinics: Friday, Jan. 14, and Thursday, Jan. 20. Individuals wanting a vaccine or booster must sign up using the link in the Important Announcements section of mySFA.

Health Services also continues to offer free walk-in COVID testing from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please proceed to the rear entrance of the Health Clinic at door #3.

You may direct any questions concerning COVID-19 to higginsjk@sfasu.edu and any questions about masks and hand sanitizer to dos@sfasu.edu.
