Severe Weather Information – Classes Canceled Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 16 - 17.

Due to dangerous road conditions and widespread power outages in the East Texas area today and expectations for continued below freezing temperatures over the next two days, all campus activities (including in-person and online classes) scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, February 16 - 17, have been canceled. SFA’s Early Childhood Laboratory and Charter School will also be closed.

The SFA administration and UPD will continue to closely monitor weather conditions that are expected to impact East Texas over the next few days. Check SFA’s website and Facebook page for any additional weather-related announcements.

As a reminder, current SFA students, faculty and staff should receive a Jack Alert message when classes are canceled or delayed. Please ensure that your contact information is correct and make any needed updates via mySFA.

Information about road conditions

A National Weather Service Winter Storm Warning predicting accumulating snowfall and some freezing precipitation throughout the East Texas area expires at 8 a.m. Monday.
