SFA Faculty & Staff,
The Lumberjack Innovation Team has been working diligently over the summer to set the course for a new model for higher education at SFA in the coming years. The team’s charge is to “coordinate campus-wide initiatives to encourage innovative and flexible programs and offerings while maintaining academic rigor.” In doing this, the Innovation Team has identified five key initiatives:
- Curriculum Innovation
- Calendar Year
- Academic Spaces
- Students Success
- Faculty and Staff Welfare
Moving into the academic year 20-21, we will be asking the campus to help generate innovative ideas within these five key areas. To begin this process, a virtual Town Hall meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 2nd from 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm (link provided below). During this meeting an overview of these five key initiatives will be reviewed, as well as the plan for innovation subgroups and college working groups.
The Lumberjack Innovation Team is comprised of faculty representation from each academic college, several academic support staff, faculty senate, and student government association.
Please click here to join the Town Hall at 3pm on September 2.
Thank you,
Jason Reese, PhD
