Office of the President seal header

We are excited to announce that SFA will be partnering with Nacogdoches Medical Center to host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic. The clinic will be held Wednesday and Thursday, Jan. 27- 28, at the Student Recreation Center. A registration link is now available in MySFA for eligible employees and students to select a time to receive a vaccination. Due to a limited supply of vaccines, those who register must meet one or more of the below federal and state eligibility requirements.

  1. If you are a front-line healthcare worker, you are eligible to receive the vaccine as part of Phase 1a.

    • SFA Health Clinic employees
    • Nursing Students (in clinicals)
    • Athletic trainers and training staff (testing for COVID)

Others who may qualify as part of Phase 1a Tier 2, depending on availability, would be those who through their line of work would have an increased exposure to the virus.

    • First responders
    • Custodians and plumbers in COVID areas
    • Residence life employees in COVID areas
  2. If you are in Phase 1b, you are also eligible, depending on vaccine availability. Phase 1b recipients include:

    • People 65 years of age and older
    • People 18 years of age and older with at least one chronic medical condition, such as but not limited to:
      • Cancer
      • Chronic kidney disease
      • COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
      • Heart conditions, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease or cardiomyopathies
      • Solid organ transplantation
      • Obesity and severe obesity (body mass index of 30 kg/m2 or higher)
      • Pregnancy
      • Sickle cell disease
      • Type 2 diabetes mellitus

Vaccine registration will be available by 4 P.M. on Jan. 21 and ending at 10 A.M. on Jan. 25.

Eligible employees and students who register for vaccination should expect their visit to last up to 1 hour.

If you do not currently qualify under the state eligibility guidelines, but would like to be added to a vaccine waiting list, please email your name and phone number to vaccine@sfasu.edu.

If you have any additional questions please contact the Environmental Health, Safety, and Risk Management Department at (936) 468-4514.

Thank you, and…ahem… vax ’em, Jacks!
