We respect the work of all who fulfill their duties within our civic society. Our systems are not perfect, but yesterday’s verdict was a start. We must remain devoted to improving our systems by eliminating racism, classism, sexism and other forms of injustice.
We must become actively dedicated to our communities, especially to those members who have been marginalized and mistreated. We must hear their voices and give them power.
We look after each other as members of the SFA community. We are and remain committed to improving lives, granting access and supporting success. We have many resources and individuals ready to help, to listen and to advocate. Our students, faculty and staff are the key to SFA’s ability to do good in the world. We care deeply for each of you.
We care about your safety and health, especially in times of grief and sadness and loss, as well as anger, confusion and hopelessness. Please know that you are not alone.
We can agree that each of us has a right to live in peace, free from violence, free from injustice and free from oppression.
More strongly than ever, we must dedicate ourselves to promoting and celebrating diversity, creating equity and championing inclusion on our campus. This is what makes us Lumberjack Strong.
