Letter to the SFA Community

Dear SFA Community:
As we get closer to formalizing our new partnership, I want to pause and let you know we are thrilled to welcome you to The University of Texas System! We respect the proud history, beloved traditions and fierce pride that have made Stephen F. Austin State University such a special place. That legacy will continue. As a member of the UT System community, you will have additional resources and support to build on what SFA already does so well.
We are energized by the opportunities that lie ahead. A strong camaraderie already has developed between the SFA and UT System professionals who are working on the operational, financial and academic transition processes, and we can’t wait to expand our working relationships soon. Together, our combined strengths and expertise will expand education, research and healthcare in East Texas and enhance our ability to serve all Texans.
The UT System Board of Regents and I are profoundly grateful to the SFA Board of Regents and the entire SFA community for choosing to affiliate with the UT System. Your participation in the proposal process taught us much. We look forward to getting to know one another even better in the months ahead.
We are proud and eager to begin this journey of progress, discovery and service with you.
