University Affairs Administrative Changes
I am pleased to announce that Dr. Michara DeLaney-Fields will be serving as Interim Vice President for Student Affairs (VPSA) effective December 19, 2020. As you may know, Dr. DeLaney-Fields currently serves as SFA’s Chief Diversity Officer. Dr. DeLaney-Fields will serve in this role until the permanent VPSA arrives on campus. It is anticipated that the individual who is selected for the permanent role will arrive to campus and begin their duties sometime during the first half of the spring 2021 semester.
Before arriving to SFA in 2019, Dr. DeLaney-Fields served in a variety of roles, including: interim dean of students, interim vice president for student affairs, and assistant vice president for student affairs and student engagement at Albany State University in Albany, GA.
Additionally, beginning December 19, 2020, UPD, Parking Services and Emergency Management will be reporting to Dr. Danny Gallant, Vice President for Business and Finance.
Please join me in congratulating Michara on her selection to serve in this interim role. The VPSA search committee will be keeping campus updated as the search progresses.
