Severe Weather Information – Classes Canceled and Campus Closed until Monday, February 22.

As you know, East Texas is experiencing significant weather-related issues, including continued freezing temperatures, dangerous road conditions, widespread power outages, and significant water pressure issues and interruptions. In addition, more ice/snow is forecasted for Wednesday night and during the day Thursday. As a result, campus will be closed and all classes (including in-person and online classes) are canceled. SFA’s Early Childhood Laboratory and Charter School will also be closed. We will resume normal operations on Monday, February 22.

Check SFA’s website and Facebook page for any additional weather-related announcements.

As a reminder, current SFA students, faculty and staff should receive a Jack Alert message when classes are canceled or delayed. Please ensure that your contact information is correct and make any needed updates via mySFA.

Information about road conditions

It is advised to stay off the roads. Please contact the Texas Department of Transportation's area hotline for information on road conditions at (800) 452-9292.

For SFA employees

All essential staff members, including UPD officers, should report for duty as scheduled. Staff members who are uncertain about their status as an essential worker should check with their supervisors.
