Dear Lumberjack Family,
Members of Stephen F. Austin State University (SFA), The University of Texas System (UT), and Employees Retirement System of Texas (ERS) continue working to ensure a smooth transition of benefits for you and your covered family members on September 1, 2023. This communication is sharing important dates for educational opportunities and important reminders.
Upcoming Virtual Town Halls
UT is hosting virtual town halls for you in late July and early August. This is your chance to learn more about the medical plans, hear about the benefits mapping strategy and review important dates. There will be two sessions for employees and non-Medicare eligible retirees and dependents, and two sessions for Medicare eligible retirees and Medicare eligible dependents of retirees. There are multiple dates and times offered, and you can choose which one works the best for you.
Note: All virtual meetings will be presented using Microsoft Teams which will be launched from the applicable link below. Please click on the meeting link a few minutes earlier to ensure you are able to access the meeting online.

In-Person Annual Enrollment Fairs
SFA, UT and the various UT benefit partners will be onsite at the SFA Student Recreation Center in late August. There will be presentations, an opportunity to visit and ask questions in person, and assistance with any enrollment you may wish to complete.
- Tuesday, August 22 from 9:00 am-3:00 pm CDT
- Wednesday, August 23 from 9:00 am-3:00 pm CDT
- Thursday, August 24 from 9:00 am-noon CDT

Important Reminders
Email & U.S. Mail Addresses
Keep your email address and U.S. Mail address updated with SFA by emailing hr@sfasu.edu or by calling 936.468.2304. Visit utbenefits.link/SFA for regular updates and information on insurance, retirement, and wellness plans.
ID Cards
Insurance ID cards are scheduled to arrive by September 1 for your UT coverage. If you make changes to your coverage during the SFA enrollment period of August 21 - September 30, 2023, any new ID cards will arrive after that election is received and processed with the insurance vendor.
