Dr. Sudeshna Roy: putting passion into the art of communication
Roy

Dr. Sudeshna Roy is a professor in the Department of Languages, Cultures and Communication. She joined the SFA faculty in 2008. Roy received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English literature from the University of Calcutta in India and her doctoral degree in communication from Washington State University.

“I am very grateful to have received the Teaching Excellence Award for my college,” Roy said. “My current and past students have allowed me to become a more intuitive and passionate teacher through the years.”

Roy is the recipient of this year's Teaching Excellence Award for the College of Liberal and Applied Arts.

This is one in a series of 2021 Teaching Excellence Award features.

PAAC meeting set for Thursday

SFA faculty members and professional advisors are invited to the Professional Academic Advising Council meeting from 2 to 3 p.m. tomorrow via Zoom.

SFA Today to publish once a week during summer

SFA Today will reduce its normal three-day-a-week publishing schedule throughout the summer.

The faculty and staff newsletter will publish once each week on Wednesday now through the start of the fall semester and will resume publishing multiple times a week Aug. 23.

To have an article run in SFA Today, it must be submitted by noon the Tuesday prior to each week's Wednesday publication.

Students to host plant sale on campus Friday

SFA's horticulture program will host a spring plant sale from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, May 14, at the SFA Plantery, located at 1924 Wilson Drive.

Plants available for purchase include a variety of houseplants, succulents, tropical plants and spring annuals. All proceeds support future educational projects in SFA’s horticulture program.

COVID-19 protocols will be in place to help ensure a safe shopping environment. Social distancing and face coverings are required.

Pre-order available for parking passes

Parking passes for the 2021-22 academic year are now available through mySFA under the "Employee" tab.

Passes will be available for pick-up later this summer. For more information about parking passes, click here.
