Volunteers needed for move-in weekend
SFA's on-campus occupancy rate is expected to exceed 90% this fall! To meet the demand, Residence Life has opened four additional residence halls and reimagined move-in weekend to create the best possible experience for our new and returning students and their families.
Res Life is working with campus and community partners to host a centralized check-in process for move-in weekend Aug. 23-24 in the Commuter Lot on University Drive. The lot will feature a family zone with inflatables and other activities, food trucks, photo ops with SFA student-athletes and medical tents and comfort stations to help overheated guests. Faculty and staff are asked to do the following to make it a success.
Volunteer – Answer questions, give directions, help unload belongings and offer encouraging words to anxious students and frazzled parents. Two-hour shifts are available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. both days. All volunteers will receive a special move-in weekend T-shirt to wear during their shift(s) so they can easily be identified as someone here to help. Sign up to volunteer.
Do not park in these areas – From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 23-24, students and families will use Lot 35 south of the Cole STEM Building and lots 8E and 8W between the McKibben Education Building and the Human Services Building/Lumberjack Lodge to park as they move in. During those times, you may park in any other legal parking space on campus, regardless of its usual designation, including all parking garages.
If you have any questions, email the Dean of Students Office at dos@sfasu.edu.

Now imagine walking by the Eiffel Tower and seeing a full moon inside the tower's Olympic Rings. Now that's incredible!
Paris was a stunning backdrop for the Olympics.
