NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
SFA Today to publish twice per week beginning Aug. 27

Beginning Tuesday, Aug. 27, SFA Today will be published Tuesday and Thursday every week the university is in session during the fall and spring terms.

The process for submissions will remain the same — submit news items for inclusion by noon the day before each edition through the "News and Writing" section at sfasu.edu/umc-request.

Policy revised in Handbook of Operating Procedures

University policy 03-201 Administrative and Professional Staff has been revised to be in compliance with recent legislation.

In accordance with 01-101 Handbook of Operating Procedures Administration, the university president has authority to approve/implement a provisional policy as necessary when federal or state laws, regulatory actions or compelling circumstances make expedited policy implementation prudent or necessary. This policy was approved by Dr. Neal Weaver, SFA president, effective Aug. 13.

View this policy in the Handbook of Operating Procedures. For details regarding the revisions, contact April Smith at alsmith@sfasu.edu.

Applications for Academic Integrity and Student Conduct Hearing Boards now open

SFA community members now have an opportunity to take an active role in SFA’s Student Conduct process.

The Dean of Students Office is looking for faculty members to serve on the Academic Integrity Hearing Boards to adjudicate academic integrity cases. The office also is looking for students, faculty and staff to serve on the Student Conduct Hearing Boards to adjudicate behavioral conduct cases.

If you are interested in serving, complete the behavioral conduct hearing panel application. Keep in mind that these roles require a large time commitment. You will be trained to adjudicate a conduct case, as well as hear a case.

For more information, email george.montgomery@sfasu.edu.
