Horticulture students to host Plants and Pancakes at Plantery
Pancakes

SFA’s horticulture program and Horticulture Club will host Plants and Pancakes from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Plantery, located at 1924 Wilson Drive.

Plants available for purchase include a variety of edibles, succulents, houseplants and more. Pancakes will be free, but donations are encouraged.

In the event of rain, Plants and Pancakes will be held inside the Plantery greenhouse.

For more event information, contact Dr. Jared Barnes, associate professor of horticulture and steward of the Plantery, at barnesj@sfasu.edu. To learn more about the Plantery, visit its website or follow @sfahorticulture on Instagram.

Be prepared for severe weather

Though spring is usually the peak season for severe weather, fall can also bring dangerous weather including tornadoes, damaging winds, large hail and flash flooding. It's also a good time to start preparing for winter weather.

To help our community get ready, the National Weather Service has designated this week as Fall Severe Weather Awareness Week.

To view campus emergency procedures for thunderstorms, tornado safety and more, visit the severe weather section of SFA’s Emergency Management webpage.
