Staff Council to meet Feb. 11

Staff Council will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, in McGee Business Building, Room 133, and via Zoom.

Jessica Waguespack, program director for Student Wellness, and Kenneth Morton, director of Campus Recreation, will discuss the Lumberjack Wellness Network’s Wellbeing Certification. Stormie Boston, Human Resources generalist, will review the newly modified annual performance evaluations.

Lifelong learning conference

Calling all educators! Do you have innovative teaching strategies, research or insights to share with K-12 teachers? Submit your proposals for the second annual Lifelong Learning Conference, designed by educators for educators. Planned for June 27 at the Janice A. Pattillo Early Childhood Research Center, this Department of Education Studies event is a great opportunity to connect, collaborate and inspire.

The conference’s call for proposals is open to anyone — graduate students, undergraduate students, faculty, staff, in-service teachers and alumni — who has insights relevant to K-12 teachers.

Submit your proposal by March 21 to the Lifelong Learning Conference's webpage.

OIP announces this month's Global Gateway events

Faculty, staff, students and community members are invited to the Office of International Programs' cultural presentations at 3 p.m. in Steen Library, Room 103, on the following dates:

• United Arab Emirates, Feb. 13

• Nigeria, Feb. 18

The events include presentations led by SFA international students who introduce attendees to their countries, traditions and lifestyles. Question-and-answer sessions follow the presentations.
