NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
SFA Today to publish once per week during summer

SFA Today will reduce its normal two-day-a-week publishing schedule throughout the summer. Beginning next week, the faculty and staff newsletter will publish once each week on Wednesdays.

To have an article run in SFA Today, it must be submitted through the UMC Service Desk portal by noon the Tuesday prior to each week's Wednesday publication.

ETRC to host archive lab on record preservation

Did you know Texas has a county records preservation program? Twenty-three libraries and archives across the state are regional depositories for inactive county records in their region.

The East Texas Research Center will host a lecture to discuss the County Records Program, how county officials and archives collaborate to save state history, the types of records being preserved and how researchers can access them. The lecture will be led by Kyle Ainsworth, special collections librarian, at 4 p.m. May 22 on the first floor of Steen Library and via Zoom. Space is limited and registration is required.

Faculty Senate to meet tomorrow

The SFA Faculty Senate will hold a meeting at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow in McGee Business Building, Room 133, and on Zoom.

Members of the SFA community are welcome to attend the public portion of the session either in person or via Zoom. However, per senate rules, only faculty senators are permitted to participate in the discussions during the meeting. Therefore, questions should be forwarded in advance to your faculty senator for potential consideration.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Dr. Kyle Conlon, associate professor of psychology
Conlon

Conlon, with undergraduate student Kate Middleton, recently published a peer-reviewed paper in the Journal of Student Leadership.

The article, “Psychological Well-Being Among College Student Leaders,” examined the psychological benefits and costs of leadership on college students. The results showed that student leaders experienced heightened life satisfaction and perspective-taking, but impostorism also emerged as a primary catalyst of psychological stress. These findings highlight the need for leadership training programs to foster both professional and psychological growth among student leaders.
