Viewings set for SFA’s Campus Master Plan

Join the Master Plan Steering Committee to see the latest progress on SFA’s Campus Master Plan during a come-and-go viewing from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 9 in the Baker Pattillo Student Center Regents' Suite B. The committee also will make a presentation to campus at 5:30 p.m.

SFA officially unveiled the Pineywoods Dining Hall — the university’s first mass timber building and the first mass timber project in The University of Texas System — on Thursday, ushering in a new era of campus dining.

SFA Gardens will host a fruit research field day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 19 featuring kiwifruit, muscadine grapes, blueberries, figs, feijoas and other fruits.

Brewer was featured in two “Ask the Experts” articles on WalletHub.com. In May, Brewer was interviewed about the best credit cards for young adults, and in July, she was interviewed about the best budgeting apps.

Brewer is an advocate for those interested in understanding their own financial position. As part of her "Professional Development and Marketable Skills in Psychology" course, Brewer facilitates learning about income taxes, employee benefits and personal budgeting and encourages her students to take control of their financial health.

Project RAICES grant team members featured on podcast

SFA’s Project RAICES grant team members recorded an episode on the American Association for the Advancement of Science’s "Sci on the Fly" podcast.

In the episode, titled “Rooted in Language and Community,” Dr. Heather Olson Beal, professor of education studies and RAICES principal investigator, sat down with two co-PIs of the RAICES team, Dr. Chrissy Cross, professor of education studies; and Dr. Marisol Diaz, assistant professor at California State Polytechnic University-Pomona; to discuss the importance of creating productive learning environments for English learners and multilingual students.
